12. Follow the same way for creating a layer, but instead for shading the face by creating a layer on top of "darkest" select "base skin" and create a new layer.. call this layer "lighter than darkest" or something that you will remember.. shade the area lighter than the dark color you selected before. Make sure "base skin" is hidden. Mine looks like this:

13. Dont mind how it looks yet - if in case you want to change the color in a layer, just click on one of the colors and go to Edit-Select-Same FIll Color and make the color you want by using the eyedropper tool (ugh this is tricky - not needed if you are perfect) haha. then just use the arrow tool and click outside the image and highlight the layer you want to work on.
14. Continue working by placing layers beneath the previous layers to create this effect...:

notice that I didn't try doing the eye or lips as yet

15. By now, having so many highlights in the face, making a immense "whitest" layer is optional. I thought I would need something very light to show that light is shining on my face.

- I went to the "darkest" layer and made a new layer on top of it. I hid all the layers, except "Layer 1" and selected a nice light brown on my face. I traced the highlighted spots.

16. When I remove the layers from being hidden: the final skin colors look like this:

Next - let's work on the eyes and lips...
