Now
you are at the layer make sure that area is highlighted in the Layer
Palette, also the Tool options should show that you are using the "Smart
Edge" Selection since the tutorial is using that one ;). Now I
believe we are all ready to select the areas so, try tracing around
the orange clicking for each turn, pretend you are using your mouse
to draw...Double click when you have traced around the entire orange.

- Mine looked
like that while I was tracing around, looks kind of retarded but don't
worry about that haha, as you see I got it selected.
- Choose
the bucket tool and choose a nice dark orange color in the color palette.
Fill the marquee. I chose #FE802C
Now
make the Layer by clicking the "glasses" on the Layer Palette
- the orange should disappear - dont panick haha! Create a new raster
layer by clicking the icon that looks like papers stacked together.
We are basically going to shade the orange so remember how to make the
layers invisible and how to create new layers.
- Make sure
the layer that you have created is highlighted, press CTRL + D to deselect
the marquee and use the lasso tool once again to draw around a lighter
area than the orange you have selected. Then fill it with a lighter
orange color, I used #FEA82D.
Continue with a lighter shade once again... Make a new layer, select
lighter areas and fill... Just be sure that you make the layers invisible
so you can choose the areas.. CTRL+D to deselect each time you finished
with a layer. Then make all the layers visible again by clicking the
glasses with x's on them.

| Just
keep shading... |
That's
it =). If only i had patience would have looked better lol. |
- Make a
background by choosing the layer that says Background, and make a new
layer from there. Fill it with a solid color or try vectoring the background
like i have...
- And that's
basically it =). If it worked for you or if you have problems, email
